
Sam Robinson
Overture 2025/2026 Cohort
Born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Sam trained on the CAT programme at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, developing a passion for movement, before graduating in 2022 from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
He has worked with numerous choreographers including Darren Ellis, Allyene Dance and Darshan Singh Bhuller. Both a choreographer and composer he has produced works performed at Sadlers Wells, Lillian Baylis Theatre and collaborated with Harry’n’smithy Dance Collective on other creative projects with most recent credits (Dog Eat Dog and Loonheads) being performed as part of Resolution Festival at The Place and Brighton Fringe Festival. Sam has a passion for the use of movement in developing wellbeing for both audiences and participants alike and exploring how the arts can improve the wellbeing of individuals. He has discovered a love for teaching and he currently teaches contemporary dance at Freedom Fighters Arts, Shoreditch as well as New London Performing Arts Centre where he is the Head of Youth Company.
