Beth Storie

Overture 2025/2026 Cohort

Beth is a dedicated dance artist, educator, and delivery manager for Visual & Performing Arts at Coventry City Council’s Adult Education Service. Alongside this, Beth lectures at De Montfort University in Leicester, teaching across BA (Hons) Dance and Performing Arts programmes at Levels 4–6. Her areas of expertise include choreography, contact improvisation, technique, strength and conditioning, ensemble work, and performance projects.

A previous performer with Highly Sprung Performance Company and formerly an artist in training with Motionhouse, Beth blends her professional dance experience with a strong pedagogical practice. She holds a HEA Fellowship, PGCE in Lifelong Learning, MA Dance Performance and Choreography and BA Dance. Beth’s choreographic practice investigates what is considered as ‘radical and extreme’ in performance.

At the heart of Beth’s practice is a passion for community dance. One of her greatest achievements is witnessing the transformative power of dance in community settings—where expression transcends background, language, and ability. For Beth, dance is about more than a technical skill: it is about participation, inclusion, and storytelling through movement.

These moments in community dance reaffirms Beth’s commitment to making dance accessible and meaningful for all. As a practitioner, Beth believes community dance truly empowers individuals while nurturing creativity, connection and collective spirit.
