Profile

Amelia Bell

Overture 2025/2026 Cohort

Amelia is a freelance community dance practitioner and owner of North Leeds Dance Education based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She qualified as a Royal Academy of Dance ballet teacher in 2009 and has since gone on to build a successful school, but has also branched out into larger scale community-based works. She has been commissioned on contracts with Northern Ballet (Sing Dance Leap 2025, Bradford City of Culture) and is currently an Associate Artist with Royal Ballet on their Chance to Dance programme which brings talent development into alignment with a creative teaching ethos.

Amelia is interested in the use of accessible language in dance education, and how creative terminology and pedagogy can nurture and inspire movement confidence in young dancers. Her practise is rooted in building connections and she has a holistic approach to both teaching and creating work which she is looking forward to further exploring with the inspiring cohort of Overture 25/26.
