TOURING THROUGHOUT SOUTH EAST ENGLAND FROM 14 JULY TO 8 AUGUST 2026

Doorstep Duets, in partnership with Farnham Maltings, returns for its sixth year this summer, bringing free world-class dance performances to communities across the South-East of England.
Originally created in 2021 as a response to social isolation, Doorstep Duets offers free opportunities for local communities to enjoy world-class dance performances for free on their street, in their park, or through local community organisations, bringing the joy and wonder of dance to all and making dance more accessible to everyone.
For 2026, emerging choreographer Glenn Graham has created The Bench, performed by stars of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures. Have you ever sat on a park bench and wondered who came before you, what they were thinking, and what hopes and fears they were hiding? The Bench tells the story of three people whose lives overlap in unexpected ways. It is a poetic and moving exploration of memory, connection, and the quiet moments that shape us.
Performances of The Bench begin on 14th July at Farnham Maltings before heading out on a tour across South-East England to The Children's Trust in Surrey, The Mercury Theatre in Essex, Dance Network Association in Essex, Latitude Festival, The Alex in Faversham, the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Future Foundry Dover, The Ark Cliftonville in Margate and Ramsgate, Creative Crawley and Surrey Libraries.
