For more than a decade Back Row has had a successful record of developing and presenting innovative productions throughout the world. In 1995 Back Row discovered Tap Dogs in Sydney, and has since produced the show on six continents, in more than 20 countries and over 250 cities – often with three different companies touring simultaneously. Back Row has produced and managed shows ranging from Slava’s Snowshow to the New York debut of Eddie Izzard and from Ningail (the story of a remarkable young Australian aboriginal woman) to the record breaking West End and European tours of Jerry Seinfeld. In 1999 Back Row developed the award-winning Gumboots, featuring a troupe of dancers, singers and musicians from Soweto, South Africa. After a second record-breaking season in Paris at the prestigious La Cigale theatre, Gumboots is presently touring Europe. With Clear Channel, the Back Row team launched the European tour of the award-winning show Fosse in Hamburg, and co-produced the hit show about motherhood Mum’s the Word for its European, North American, Scottish and UK regional tours prior to a West End opening in 2003. The company’s international profile was consolidated by booking, managing and producing international seasons for Slava’s Snowshow, Cats, Chicago, Bounce, Circus Oz, Gumboots, Tap Dogs, Fosse and Mum’s the Word. Back Row’s forthcoming productions include the tenth anniversary tour of Australia by Tap Dogs and the European, Asian and North American tours of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake. |
