Swan Lake returned to Sadlers Wells theatre last week, where it first premiered in November 1995. The evening was a triumph for the company and particularly Richard Winsor (in his debut as The Swan) and Christopher Marney as The Prince, resulting in a ten minute standing ovation. Matthew Bourne joined the company on stage during the curtain calls...
At the party afterwards many celebrities joined the company to celebrate. Among those present were Stephen Fry, John Hurt, Gillian Anderson, Richard E Grant, Paul O'Grady, Elaine Paige and Movie Star, Neve Campbell and her husband, actor, John Light. Ice dancing legends, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, along with skating stars, Karen Barber and Matt Evers were also seeing the show for the first time.

Stephen later said of the show..... "So sensational. Simply heavenly in every possible way. Lyrical. Sexy. Sweet. Passionate Intelligent. Divine - a million congratulations. That standing ovation would've lasted a half hour if we weren't so bloody British"
