New Adventures today announced the full casting for the forthcoming new production of Matthew Bourne's CINDERELLA which premiers in Plymouth this November.
The cast includes the usual New Adventures mix of much loved performers from the ever growing New Adventures "family" to dancers making their debuts with the company.
The title role of Cinderella will be performed by KERRY BIGGIN who has played a string of leading roles in New Adventures productions including Clara in Nutcracker!, The Sylph in Highland Fling, Rita in The Car Man and her created role of Kim in Edward Scissorhands. NOI TOLMER, who also plays the title role has an equally impressive list of leading roles with the Company including Sugar in Nutcracker!, Kim in Edward Scissorhands and "The Sylph in Highland Fling.
The Pilot (Harry) who is the "Prince" figure in Bourne's production will be performed by New Adventures favourite, SAM ARCHER who co-created the title role in the original production of Edward Scissorhands. Sam has also played several leading roles with the company including, Angelo in The Car Man, Anthony in Play Without Words and, this year, made his debut as The Prince in Swan Lake. Also returning to the Company to play The Pilot is NEIL WESTMORELAND who had a great success with New Adventures playing The Prince in Swan Lake and the title role in Nutcracker! Neil will also be playing the role of The Father (Robert) in Cinderella.
One of New Adventures leading stars and an original cast member from the 1997 production of Cinderella is MICHELA MEAZZA. Michela returns to play the leading role of The Stepmother (Sybil), having featured in the original cast as an Ensemble member. Since that time Michela has played leading roles as Lana in The Car Man, Sugar in The Nutcracker!, and her created roles as Glenda in Play Without Words, Joyce in Edward Scissorhands and Lady H in Dorian Gray. Also playing the role of The Stepmother is MIKAH SMILLIE, who has arguably played more roles in New Adventures productions in recent years than any other dancer. Mikah played mulltiple roles in Nutcracker!, Edward Scissorhands, The Car Man and Highland Fling
The role of The Angel , who is a male Guardian to Cinderella rather than the traditional Fairy Godmother, will be played by CHRISTOPHER MARNEY. Chris recently created the role of Cyril Vane in Matthew Bourne's Dorian Gray, as well as returning to his role of The Prince in Swan Lake, which he has played all over the world. Also playing the role of The Angel will be GLENN GRAHAM and ADAM MASKELL. Glenn returns to New Adventures after several years dancing with Introdance in Holland and Adam was recently seen in Dorian Gray in which he played The Doppelganger and Adrian Singleton.
Several dancers are joining the company of Cinderella from the current Swan Lake company - DANNY COLLINS, GAVIN PERSAND, PAUL SMETHURST, ASHLEY SHAW and CHLOE WILKINSON (as well as Sam Archer and Kerry Biggin)
Returning to New Adventures are - ROSS CARPENTER, SOPHIA HURDLEY, DENA LAGUE, DOMINIC LAMB, EDWIN RAY, SHAUN WALTERS, JOE WALKLING and DANIEL WRIGHT.
Making their debuts with New Adventures are - TOM JACKSON GREAVES, KATE LYONS and ZIZI STRALLEN
Leading Company star ETTA MURFITT will be Associate Director on this production as well as covering the role of The Stepmother
