Emily is making her debut with NEW ADVENTURES in the current tour of DORIAN GRAY. You may recognise her from her current Kit-Kat Chocolate advert on TV. She has also appeared in several West End shows including the recent Rufus Norris directed CABARET and the new musical, IMAGINE THIS. Emily is married to Edward Scissorhands star and fellow Scot, Matthew Malthouse.

NAME – Emily-Jane Boyle
HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU TOOK YOUR FIRST DANCE CLASS?
2 1/2 years old. I was born with a damaged left foot and after physiotherapy my parents were advised to send me to dance lessons to strengthen it.
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY OF WATCHING DANCE?
A production of Nutcracker by Scottish Ballet. I was about 4 so the memories are vague, but my mum tells me that about 10mins in I enquired as to when were they were going to start speaking.
WHERE DID YOU DO YOUR DANCE TRAINING?
All over the place! Firstly at the Dance School of School of Scotland in Knightswood, Glasgow, followed by 2 years as a Royal Ballet Senior Associate and as an apprentice with a company called Jazz Art. Following that a year at London Studio Centre, and finishing with a scholarship place at Steps on Broadway in New York.
FAVOURITE JOB NOT WITH AMP OR NEW ADVENTURES?
Cabaret was an amazing show to do, but my favourite job experience so far was 8 weeks filming a role in a TV drama called Cracked with great people whom i learned so much from.

WHICH ROLE THAT YOU HAVE NOT PERFORMED WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO TRY IN THE FUTURE AND WHY?
Rita in The Car Man. A classic cinematic victim role coupled with such dramatic and dynamic choreography.
WHICH FELLOW NEW ADVENTURES DANCER DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST AND WHY?
Maddie Brennan is a fantastic actress and versatile performer, and I have so much respect for Kerry Biggin. And of course I’m a big fan of Matthew Malthouse (he’s just made me tea).
FAVOURITE INTERNATIONAL TOURING DATE?
I haven’t actually worked outside of the UK before, however, based on visiting Matt whilst he was touring with the company, I would say Tokyo – it was overwhelming and exciting and I want to go again!
FAVOURITE UK TOURING DATE?
Glasgae!

I’ve been really lucky to have had quite a varied career to date, and would like to still be working with great people on interesting projects.
To have achieved my current goals but still have lots to accomplish.
