ROH2’s The Red Balloon for Aletta Collins

WHEN DID YOU START WORKING WITH AMP OR NEW ADVENTURES?
August 2004

WHAT WAS YOUR DEBUT ROLE WITH THE COMPANY?
Medium Swan's 9 & 10 (Swan Lake)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW TO PERFORM AND WHY?
All of them for different reasons.
Swan Lake is amazing to do, I really enjoyed doing Scissorhands
Overall I think it has to be The Car Man but i don’t actually know
why. It’s music, the choreography, the cast. Great to be a
part of.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE YOU HAVE PERFORMED AND WHY?
Performing Edward was an amazing experience & I learnt so much.
My favourite piece to perform is the Big Swan dance (Swan Lake) because
it’s so physical & masculine. Great fun to bosh out those jumps!

WHICH ROLE THAT YOU HAVE NOT PERFORMED WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO TRY IN THE FUTURE AND WHY?
There are so many, Angelo from The Car Man, James from Highland Fling, Fritz from the Nutcracker. I would try any role im given the chance to play because there are no small parts. You're never just there to dress the stage and always help tell the story.

WHICH FELLOW NEW ADVENTURES DANCER DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST AND WHY?
Pia Driver for putting up with me. Which is the toughest role in New Adventures haha.

Also Scott Ambler & Etta Murfitt because they have been with the company from the early days & have both taught me a lot.

FAVOURITE INTERNATIONAL TOURING DATE?
Easy... Tokyo

FAVOURITE UK TOURING DATE?
Well, we don’t go to Leeds so it has to be Bradford

WHO ARE YOUR DANCE HEROES, PAST AND PRESENT?
Christopher Gable, Adam Cooper, Michael Jackson &
Columbus Short.

TIGHTS OR BAGGIES?
Baggies for sure. Real men don’t wear tights

JOCK OR NOT?
Aussiebums ‘wonder jock’. Perfect rehearsal wear.

BALLET OR CONTEMPORARY?
A bit of both plus some Street Jazz.

MATINEE OR EVENING?
I’m not a morning person so it would have to be evening.

REHEARSAL OR PERFORMANCE?
Performance. That’s the whole point of rehearsals innit!

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN 10 YEARS?
Driving my Bugatti Veyron in to my massive mansion yeeeeah.
I don’t where i'll be in 10 years, hopefully still enjoying what im
doing.
