In the first of a new on-line series, we ask the same set of Questions to New Adventures dancers past and present. First up is ANABEL KUTAY, who is about to feature in the 2009 tour of Matthew Bourne's DORIAN GRAY. Anabel has also danced in Bourne's SWAN LAKE and has recently been performing in the National Tour of the musical based on the classic 80's film FLASHDANCE.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY OF WATCHING DANCE?
Going to watch BRB perform sleeping beauty at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. My Nana took me for my 9th Birthday.

WHERE DID YOU DO YOUR DANCE TRAINING?
In a church Hall in Sale every Friday evening. I went to Royal Ballet Junior associates from the age of 7 and afterwards Urdang senior Associates for monthly classes. I trained full time when I was 16 at Northern Ballet School in Manchester.

WHAT WAS YOUR DEBUT ROLE WITH THE COMPANY?
Italian Princess in Swan Lake

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW TO PERFORM AND WHY?
Swan Lake because of the stylish, sexy and fabulous choreography, the beautiful music, the wonderful places and the people I now call my close friends.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE YOU HAVE PERFORMED AND WHY?
Alex Owens in ‘flashdance the musical’. It was my debut as an all singing, dancing and acting leading lady, a huge challenge!

WHICH ROLE THAT YOU HAVE NOT PERFORMED WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO TRY IN THE FUTURE AND WHY?
Girlfriend in Swan Lake. I’m not the obvious choice for the part, I think I could bring something totally new to the role. It would be fun playing this Fame obsessed, attention seeking, man-eating, girlie girl. I think I could bring a little bit of myself into the character and take inspiration from people I have met on the London scene!!!

WHICH FELLOW NEW ADVENTURES DANCER DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST AND WHY?
Sara Cormack (Saranne Curtin), because she is the Original Italian Princess and so inspirational to me.

I would like to have played many new and exciting roles and continue to grow as a versatile performer. I want to look back and be proud of my diverse career and be able to say ‘HA’ to people to didn’t believe I could do it!!!
