Adam Maskell is making his New Adventures debut in the cast of DORIAN GRAY. He comes straight to us from the West End cast of GREASE, and has also featured in the touring cast of FAME. Adam is also an in-demand model, which certainly helped his research for the image obsessed contemporary world of Dorian Gray. He has a pet rabbit called Napoleon!

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY OF WATCHING DANCE?
Having not really been interested in dancing till I was about 12/13 I cant really think of an earliest memory, but I do remember watching “On Your Toes” in 2003 and thinking the dancing was amazing!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW TO PERFORM AND WHY?

Before this I have only done Grease and Fame and I have to say Grease is my favourite because no matter what you can’t get tired of it and it always makes me smile!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE YOU HAVE PERFORMED AND WHY?

Playing my understudy Roger in Grease. I find him such a goofy character to play you can’t help but have fun doing it.

WHICH ROLE THAT YOU HAVE NOT PERFORMED WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO TRY IN THE FUTURE AND WHY?

Well there are many roles I would love to perform. The Swan is the big one! The masculinity of the role is what I love about him but then there are so many other roles within the company's shows that would be great to do. I’d also love to do Play Without Words. Its just so stylish and is my favourite New Adventures show.

WHICH FELLOW NEW ADVENTURES DANCER DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST AND WHY?
Neil Westmoreland. He doesn’t dance for the company anymore but he was my ballet teacher at college and I learnt so much from him. His musicality when he dances is amazing.

FAVOURITE INTERNATIONAL TOURING DATE?

When I toured with Fame! I thought Vienna was stunning

FAVOURITE UK TOURING DATE?

I’ve only done Milton Keynes and Bromley so far so its too early to say!!!!

WHO ARE YOUR DANCE HEROES, PAST AND PRESENT?

I don’t really know if I have a dance hero, but I would say I admire any dancer who can take your breath away when watching them.

Hopefully still performing and enjoying my work. I’d like to be able to perform for as long as I possibly can and then move into another area of the business whatever that my be!
