re-BOURNE & CORALI COLLABORATE
Posted on Tuesday 30 March 2010
New Adventures dancers Joe Walking, Stephen Berkeley-White, Sophia Hurdley and Belinda Chapman spent 5 days in March collaborating with dancer/choreographers from the inclusive company Corali.
They had choreographed scores/templates, some complete and some not and from these a half hour performance entitled Scapes was carved out. The collection of shorts, a mixture of Corali choreography with New Adventures performers and vice versa, was shared with an audience of special schools and the general public who then took part in a workshop, co-led by both companies.
This was both a creative experiment and a training exercise for New Adventures and re:bourne. Our dancers were able to develop skills in working alongside those with special education and physical needs, knowledge that will be passed on to other members of the re:bourne team.
