Dominic North is nominated for his fine portrayal of the title role in Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures’ production of "Edward Scissorhands" at Sadler’s Wells. North has danced a number of roles for Bourne, including Cyril Vane in "Dorian Gray" and the Prince in "Swan Lake", as well as roles in "The Car Man". North is a strong dance-actor and brought depth, dead-pan humour and pathos to his memorable portrayal of Edward, the outsider looking for romantic love and a happy family life.

Dominic has worked with New Adventures since leaving Central School of Ballet in 2004 to join the 10th Anniversary production of Swan Lake, in which he toured the World. He has since appreared in Nutcracker!, The Car Man and Dorian Gray. The role of Edward was his first Principal role with New Adventures and he made his debut at the Sydney Opera House last year. He can currently be seen as Cyril Vane in the final two weeks of Dorian Gray in Birmingham and Woking and will be making his official debut (having previously covered the role) as The Prince in Swan Lake this Christmas at Sadlers Wells.
