THE NEW ADVENTURES CHOREOGRAPHER AWARD

The Recipient of this award will be granted money to work on their choreographic skills over a period of twelve months. Throughout the year the recipient will have the chance to be mentored by Matthew Bourne and other New Adventures Associate Artists, and do research and development with company dancers. In addition, they will receive advice and support from the management and administrative staff at New Adventures and Re:Bourne, including creating and managing budgets, marketing shows and general management. The culmination of the year will result in a Showcase performance (** see note below), created and devised by the winning choreographer, to which leading industry figures and critics would be invited.
** The winning applicants Showcase can be made up of one new piece, or a programme of new and previously created works (to show the applicants versatility). It must however, include at least one piece created during the winners mentoring year.

CRITERIA

All applicants must be over 18 (but no upper age limit)
Must be UK based, and have completed 3 years of vocational dance training
The award applies to any style of dance

The winner of the 2011 award, James Cousins, was announced in August. We will offer the next award in 2013
